Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet is a masterpiece in every form. Miles Davis founded the quintet in 1955 with his colleagues John Coltrane (tenor saxophone), Red Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Philly Joe Jones (drums). All of them were not yet among the greats in the jazz world at that time. Relaxing with the Miles Davis Quintet established the Miles Davis Quintet in the small group of the best jazz combos ever. Relaxin' is definitely one of Miles Davis' lively works and an example of outstanding jazz quintets of the 20th century.
