The Brian Jonestown Massacre are psychedelic rockers who originally formed in San Francisco under the leadership of singer/guitarist Anton Newcombe, they set out to take over the world the world. Since 1995, they first released through Bomp! Records, to then to TVT and later to TeePee, and finally to Anton Newcombe's own to stay with Anton Newcombe's own 'A Records'. Newcombe originally drew his influences from the psychedelic phase of the of the Rolling Stones - the band's name is a combination of the Name of the Stones guitarist Brian Jones and the nod of the head in the direction of the cult leader Jim Jones in more recent times into new dimensions and deals with british shoegaze as well as world music.
