After the rather disappointing album Hot Space, Queen returned to earlier ways with The Works in 1983. The opening title Radio Ga Ga, written by Roger Taylor, became a gigantic hit; with I Want to Break Free, It's a Hard Life and Hammer to Fall, the band's eleventh studio work also contains further chart successes. On the song Is This the World We Created Freddie Mercury sings only accompanied by Brian May on the acoustic guitar.
