  • Treasures from the Archive: Neil Young live at Carnegie Hall 1970
In recent years, Neil Young fans have already enjoyed a number of unreleased recordings from the Canadian singer-songwriter's archive, including the albums "Hitchhiker" (1976) and "Homegrown" (1975) and live recordings such as "Way Down In The Rust Bucket" (1990).

In 2021, Young, in conjunction with Shakey Pictures Records and Reprise Records, announced the first release of his new "The Neil Young Official Bootleg Series": the concert album "Carnegie Hall 1970."

The name gives it away: this is the recording of his first performance at the famed New York concert hall, and it's from December 4, 1970. There were two performances at Carnegie Hall, one on the evening of December 4 and another at midnight. The first show was by far the better, according to Young. "The first time I stepped on that Carnegie Hall stage, it blew my 25-year-old mind," he said.
