  • The soundtrack to Damien Chazelle's new cinema highlight 'La La Land' starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the leading roles won two of the coveted trophies at this year's Oscars, in the categories 'Best Film Music' and 'Best Movie Song'.

    As in its acclaimed and Oscar-winning predecessor 'Whiplash' (2014), the music is also in the foreground in the new Chazelle film. The soundtrack features a brand new song by John Legend and the single "City of Stars" by Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling.

    Written by Justin Hurwitz ('Whiplash') and with lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Hurwitz, Marius de Vries and Steven Gizicki took on the production. The OST only consists of pieces that the top-class (and powerful-voiced) cast sang themselves - above all the leading actors Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone, with John Legend also playing a special role. The song "Start A Fire" is a Legend exclusive, who co-wrote this track with Hurwitz, Marius de Vries and Angelique Cinelu.
