Cluster, Brian Eno – Cluster & Eno
- Description

Brian Eno coined the term ambient music and made it famous - but he did not invent music alone. The German musicians Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius (Cluster) were brothers in spirit. There's no point in speculating who influenced whom, the idea of ambient music was just in the air in the mid-1970s.The fact is that Brian Eno attended a Cluster concert in Hamburg in 1975. He was strategically placed in the front row and, as expected, he was asked to perform a jam on stage. A meeting was arranged after the concert, which took place in 1977. Eno and Cluster were in Conny Plank's studio for three weeks. This resulted in two albums: "Cluster & Eno" and "After The Heat". The former is without exaggeration the first ambient album produced in Germany. "After The Heat" is something completely different. While the signature of Cluster can be read on “Cluster & Eno” (and Eno's ambient concept guides the hand), “After The Heat” is more of an Eno album with the stylistic features of Cluster music.
