Wewantsounds is pleased to announce the release of Akiko Yano's 1979 cult album "7 O'Clock in Tokyo".

The album was recorded live in September 1978, at a pivotal time in Japanese music history when the Yellow Magic Orchestra was about to take the world by storm (Yano was due to tour the world with the group in 1979). "7 O'Clock in Tokyo", on which Yano performs alongside Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi as well as Tatsuro Yamashita and Minako Yoshida, will be presented outside Japan for the first time in 2025, with remastered audio, original artwork and a four-page insert with new liner notes by Paul Bowler.
